PRADA monster

"for a nanomoment New York was the club kids and they shook the hell out of it"
Andy Warhol
Greetings Citizens

We are living in the age in which the pursuit of all values other than Money Success Fame Glamour have either been discredited or destroyed.

Recently I have been reminiscent over my Club kid years in the early nineties when I secretly took my black Nike vandal high tops to customise them by adding extra striped micro soles turning them to 12' platforms. My mother was worried that I might fall off the stairs at high school. Well I was a Klub Kid and proud, I was channelling James st James, dressed either in D&G tshirts, comme des garcons, Gaultier, diesel, cyberdog, Soviet (not sure if it still exists as a brand but back then everything was 100% plastic club wear)with 501 distressed Levi's.

I was going out clubbing with my friends and sneaking in, although under aged because one of my friends was the sister of the DJ. Early nineties clubscene was insane. The music, the effort to get dressed to be noticed, the GoGo dancers everything was on another level. I remember I could not wait for Saturday night.

Prada has also revisited the early nineties with the new range of brogues that I am currently obsessed and I am seriously thinking of paying the hefty price a painful £640 price tag. It is like Klub Kids with bank accounts.

For inspiration of the ERA I do recommend to watch the "shampoo Horns" by Klub Kids and you can find it on you tube in 9 parts, recorded from VCR hilarious and surreal! or the party monster the story of Michael Alig.

Lets talk fashion

Good-evening Blog readers,

It recently come to my attention that Marni has released the lookbook for the collection that will be for sale on March the 8th! The elegantly men’s collection oozing Consuelo Castiglioni, features playful parkas, formal suits combined with either long pants or bermuda shorts along with signature print shirts and Marni's striped sweaters in my favorite material cashmere. Combined with a touch of workwear throughout it is an eclectic, quirky edgy and timeless collection.

Sofia Copolla's film featuring Imogen Poots was filmed in Morocco and styled by Lucinda Chambers captures the theme of the collection brilliantly, the soundtrack is Avalon by Brian Ferry.

My favorite look that I must add to my wardrobe for this summer is the Marni print shirt-bermuda shorts combo.

A real Greek tragedy

Everyday you hear something about Greece but now days it is all for the wrong reasons! It used to be about the country it self as a holiday destination and hospitable people etc but now it's all about the recession the deficit the new spending cuts the strict Germans and their austerity bills!

Maybe the world market may be happy with the Greek government's decision to accept and approve the new spending cuts in order to get the 2nd bailout but the Greeks themselves aren't! It makes me sad that all my friends have to deal with unreasonable decisions effecting our generation mostly. Unemployment in Greece is running at over 20% and if you look at 15 to 24-year-olds half are now unemployed!

The pensions have been cut drastically and the permanent public sector workers have been sacked. With the new austerity measures it's going to be even worst. 150,000 public sector people are going to be made redundant!

Also the insignificant and ridiculous minimum wage is cut by 22%.

It only makes me sad to hear from my friends how disappointed they all are with what's going on and how the have to fight for everything. But the future does not look very promising for them either.

I may not understand the financial implications but I do care for the lives of my friends and family been drastically changed.

All we can do is hope for the best.

London express

Again on my route back from a very long weekend in London! It started Thursday night with a table at Circus in Covent Garden, a must do for everyone. It's a place so alive and vibrant. We couldn't get a booking at the stage table which was a shame. The acts of the night that we managed to see where insane! Favorite of mine the burlesque fire eating ballerina! She got on stage and with almost military precision she managed to breath and eat fire while tip toe across the table! We can't really miss out the hula Elvis or the chinese bride, neither the acrobats swinging from the ceiling! Fun fun fun! The food was Japanese and amaising! Soft cell crab tempura insane! Black cod genious! Prawn dumplings scallops everything was so tasty served with glass after glass filled with classic champagne cocktail. Maybe I had too many cause I managed to make a full of myself at the toilets! A story I should not share! But the worst thing of the night was the loss of my trench coat belt! To the taxi driver out there that has my orphan belt please take good care of it or give it back!

The next day I had to make a very unsuccessful visit to the embassy followed by salmon and eggs at my must do breakfast place the breakfast club! Then furniture shopping at Shoreditch and a visit to my favorite pub in angel which I'll keep secret! The night was followed by a lovely dinner at my favorite hotel in London the Corinthian and an impromptu visit at proud galleries! One thing that I find weird is the ID requests nowdays regardless your age! I feel I am at the airport everytime they ask for my passport!

Saturday was filled with antique fairs and taxidermy! My new obsession! Favorite destination the taxidermist on Essex rd in islinghton. Saturday night had to be east London with a visit at pizza east for more veal meatball pizza and lovely artichokes. Then freezing our ears off at the guest list que of Cargo for some must needed calorie burning!

Sunday I met everyone for duck egg breakfasts at Camden passage and goodbyes as most of us had to return to our homes, some, fortunately not me, had to fly back abroad while I had to pack and head for the train station.

Another fun filled London visit! Very tired travelling back home filling up on Cafein to keep me awake! Can't wait for my next visit!

"Still Corners"

I was super excited when I found out that the "still corners" will be playing in Manchester and more so at one of the still untouched places in Manchester by the "wrong people" the Kraak gallery. I am so glad that its so difficult to find unless you know its there, a former textile building, with an entrance hidden away in a small alley at Stevenson Square in the middle of the Northern Quarter. I hope one day I can exhibit my work there.

Still Corners is an American dreamy pop band that I found by mistake one Sunday morning spending time on YouTube where I heard the first song and fell in love with their sound and voice and lyrics. It was the "endless summer" song.

Their work reminiscent of a more updated and deconstructed music from the early 70's, something that Nico would have easily sung. I was very impressed with their live performance and for a moment the Kraak gallery was turned into another party at the Factory.

For all those the generous people out there with spare cash please do donate some money to the Kraak gallery as it's a non profit bussiness and help it stay open so we can all have more fun nights there! visit their website www.kraak.co/

L U V MADONNA Y O U YOU WANNA!!!!!!!!!!

Fans can make you famous

A contract can make you rich

The press can make you a superstar

But only Luv can make you a player

Totally obsessed with the new song and Video by the “why took you so long” Madonna, well we all understand there is no reason to pop-fight with other rivals but we have been yearning for quite a while for your new staff and its pure genius!!! And the addition of M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj was fun. I love that she doesn't take her self too seriously and its superfun! can't wait to see her live at super bowl halftime show!
